Happy Christmas

Happy Christmas to everyone who has been a part of Wetwheels in 2013.  To the 890 passengers who came out with us on more than 130 trips.  We visited Jersey, Dartmouth, Dover, Boulogne and all of our usual Solent harbours.  Our eldest passenger was 96 year old Bill who drove at 40 knots from his wheelchair, our youngest was 3 year old Kyle.  Two wheelchair users attained their RYA level 2 Powerboat Licences through training on Wetwheels, we had many record species of fish caught including a 30lb cod.  On one trip, the 10 passengers and 2 crew totalled 1,000 years..!!  We took people of all ages, from all social backgrounds with a variety of disabilities. And how could we forget the launch of Wetwheels Jersey - what a special moment. We made many lifelong friends.  Our thanks also to the people who made it possible, the sponsors and donors. It  has not been easy raising the money in these tough ecenomic times but we were lucky to find some wonderful individuals, businesses, foundations, trusts and grant providers, too many to mention here - you know who you are. Thank you also to my fellow Directors, Martin & Andy for helping me steer the ship.  And final thanks to my crew, Skipper Keith, adminstrator Karen, of course Paul, Gus and Tracey - all working for love (certainly not money) because what we do is so consuming - tough at times, but just as rewarding.  2013 was a great year, here is looking forward to 2014.
