Visit to Jersey

May 2012 saw Wetwheels visit Jersey for 3 days of the Jersey Boat Show. Geoff Holt is a patron of the charity Le Tournoi in Jersey and they agreed to use the opportunity to take disabled and disadvantaged children on the island for trips on Wetwheels.

During her three day visit, Wetwheels managed to take 90 disabled youngsters out for trips out into the bay and some further afield to La Corbiere lighthouse.

Such was the interest in Wetwheels during her visit, even before she departed for home, an idea was hatched for Jersey to raise the funds to buy their own vessel.  Within weeks, a working party was established, business and fundraising plans written and in November 2012, a delegation from Jersey, flew to Southampton and then travelled by Wetwheels to Ventnor on the IOW to sign a contract with Cheetah Marine to build Wetwheels Jersey. She will be delivered in June 2013.

This will be the second Wetwheels and is a testament to not only the concept, but to the enlightened approach by the team in Jersey.
